Let's make this post quick, I have a best friend here to giggle with! Linking up with Amanda!

Favorite Moment:
My Bestie and her family being here, DUH!

Favorite Song:
It's an old one, but I heard Darius Rucker's version of Wagon Wheel on the radio and it made me want to hear the original version by Old Crow Medicine Show. It's much better, IMO!

Favorite Read:
This article is fantastic. These vows are great! I'd like to add these to my do-over wedding.

Favorite Purchase:

I am about to get real redneck on y'all. We bought a "conceal to carry" class off of groupon. And I'm pumped. I am not a huge 'pro-gun' advocate, but I think they are necessary for self protection. That being said, I'm not super comfortable with guns, so I am happy to be taking a step in a more comfortable direction.

Favorite Announcement:
Anyone else catch this? I hope they're not toying with my emotions, like they did with the Saved By the Bell reunion!! Don't let me down Uncle Jesse!!

Favorite Funnies:

I told y'all yesterday that my BFF has some funny kids. This was her six year old son's homework. Please notice the note on the bottom to clarify to the teacher what his homework is talking about.

Enjoy the weekend folks!

These post are everywhere in blog land, so I'm jumping on the band wagon!

LISTENING
I could probably listen to Black Widow on repeat. As a matter of fact, I AM listening to it on repeat.

WANTING
This sweatshirt and cool, fall weather to wear it in!

READING
I'm not-so patiently waiting for a few books I ordered off of amazon. In the mean time.. I am flipping back and forth between re-reading my beloved Harry Potter and the Selection. What are you reading?

WATCHING
These videos of this kid and his grandma! They are so funny!!!! Seriously, granny will suck you in. If you need to be productive today, I suggest not watching them. Just kidding.

FEELING
So, so, so EXCITED! My best friend and her husband are coming in town today!!!! EEEEEk. I love this little nugget and her precious family. To be honest, I'm not sure who is more excited, me or my husband. I love that our husband's get along so well (like they had a choice!!!). Not to mention, she has the cutest, funniest kids ever. I'm not even kidding.  The stories she has with her kiddo's are the best!!!

Men should have periods.

Tuesday, August 26, 2014

The other day, a co-worker was talking about her time of the month amongst other female co-workers. About 2 seconds into this conversation, one of my lovely male co-workers chimed in with something along the lines of "yeah, I'm so glad they make the sport tampons now for my active lifestyle". He then snickered as he walked away. At that moment I had never wished men could experience periods more than that moment. Can I get an Amen?

I mean let's get real, there is just no way blue balls can relate to the pain of cramps.

Those craving we get for chocolate or salty potato chips? They would totally understand how bad that craving consumes our every thoughts, They would understand it is not something to be taken lightly. They would understand that eating the last skinny cow salted caramel pretzel ice cream bar, when your lady is PMSing  and has been dreaming about eating it all day, is actually a tear worthy event...

Men would know when it's "that" time of the month, we don't feel that great about ourselves. And that spending a ridiculous amount of money at target is our coping mechanism for our poor self esteem (maybe I made this one up to justify myself???).

Bloating and tender tata's are a real thing, you wouldn't want me to flick your blue balls now would you? Great! Don't touch my ladies. When I tell you they hurt, that shit actually hurts.

And yes maybe me screaming and telling you Feck off because you did that is out of line, but my hormones are out of control. If men had a period, they would totally understand that.

If men had periods, they would understand that even though it comes around every month, it's still super gross every month, and extremely uncomfortable.

Life can be so unfair....

Hey Monday!

Monday, August 25, 2014

Ahh it's Monday!! While most of you are like this:

I'm like this:

It's my day off! I had planned on cleaning today, but when I got off work yesterday, my precious husband had already did it. Have I mentioned how HAPPY I am to have him home? So maybe I will just go shopping with all that free time? All in favor, please raise your hand.

Ah so let's talk about the weekend, I'm linking up for the first time with the "Weekending" link up over at Biana's. I'm sure a lot of people will be discussing the MTV VMA's today, sorry I didn't watch that. My weekend was pretty much spend cuddling with my husband and food. Possibly a little booze, too.

The husband and I were both off on Friday and had some big plans to check some things off the ol' Memphis bucket list. Then our air conditioner broke and ruined all of that. Sometime after 3:00 P.M., and it was a hundred degrees outside (no really), someone showed up to fix our broken ice box. This took a quite a while (not complaining at all!!), making us late for the cook out we were attending. Luckily for us, the cookout was at the neighbors directly behind us. It was nice to walk out the garage and hang out in the neighbors yard, drink a couple beers, eat, and walk back home. The rest of the night involved margaritas and then my husband immediately passing out on the couch. I took the opportunity to have a photo shoot with him at this point.
Making his fancy burgers!

I supervised.

I'm such a good wife!
Saturday was spent Christmas shopping! YES, you did read that right, we have decided to get an early start this year. We actually accomplished a big chunk of our gifts. That night we decided to give Hooters another try, I haven't eaten at one in quite some time. Last I remembered, their food sucked. I was actually pretty impressed with their food this time though. We also were able to watch the Colt's game. Preseason or not, I'll take it! I also think there is nothing more attractive to my husband than for me to point out the random chin hair I was rocking, with all those tiny girls walking around in their tiny shorts. We like to keep the romance sparked at all times folks.

I worked all day Sunday, and since my sweet husband cleaned the house for me, I rewarded him with his favorite chocolate peanut butter cake. Well, see ya next time weekend, hope y'all don't work to hard on this fine Monday, I will think of you all while out shopping at target with my Starbucks in hand!

Sunday Social.

Saturday, August 23, 2014

It’s been a while since I have linked up for a Sunday Social, but I missed it, so here we go!

1. What are you most looking forward to about Fall?
{{via}}
Decorating our new home with pumpkin EVERYTHING! I actually made my husband get all of our fall décor out this weekend so I could take inventory. When I moved into an apartment  the year my husband deployed, storage was minimal. So I had to get rid of a lot of my fall favorites. Now that we have a home (with an attic ready to be jam packed with crap!), I can’t wait to make it look like fall puked everywhere!

2. What is your favorite sports team?
I LOVE me some COLTS football!!

3. If you could go back to college is there one thing you would change?

Ugh Yeah, I would have finished!

4. What was your favorite class you ever took? HS or College
“Peer Educator” was my favorite class in HS. It allowed me to work with special needs children and I loved it. I know now that is where my passion is.

5. Reach into your purse what is the first thing you grab?
My Erin Condren Planner!!

A Home Coming.

Monday, August 18, 2014

I have a secret, my husband has been gone for most of summer (well minus that week he had food poisoning). For obvious reasons, I didn't post this information all over the Internet. It has royally sucked not having him here. We had big plans to explore our new city, but alas, the military life is unpredictable. That being said, his boat finally pulled back into Memphis this evening.  With the excitement of having him home again, I realized I never wrote about his BIG homecoming. The one back in December after an overseas deployment that kept us apart for over a year! A YEAR!
Pre-deployment.

He left 2 weeks before Christmas in 2012, I thought that year would drag by. And believe me, at some points, it did. But the next thing I knew December 10th 2013 was upon me and it had been exactly one year since he had been home; and it was exactly one week until he would be home again. I started my deep cleaning, worked my last day of work, and said goodbyes to a lot of wonderful people (we were moving two days after his return home). The night before one of my best friends came over to help me hang my homemade signs and I barely slept a wink that night. The next day I woke up to run last minute errands and get my hair done (priorities folks). It really seemed like I was running out of time (I may be a bit of a procrastinator), actually I was running out of time and asked my best friend to hop over the bridge to grab Taylor's favorite IPA beer.

His flight was coming in at 8:30 and I was a ball of emotions, excited and nervous comes to mind. I got to the airport a little early and waited in the parking lot for one of our three friends meeting us there, because I didn't want to carry signs into the airport alone. My sweet friend Kimberly was first and was nice enough to bring her camera to take pictures. Shortly after Kimberly's husband, Pat, showed up; followed shortly by Amanda, with Taylor's favorite beer.

His flight finally landed and we anxiously waited, Pat and Amanda held the signs so I could keep my hands free and Kimberly was ready to capture the moment. We waited, and waited, and waited a little more. Finally the captain of the plane came by and Pat asked if there was anyone else on the flight. He told him no, and my heart sank.

Taylor missed his connecting flight and since we had his phone shut off while he was deployed, he didn't have a way to call me. He was so busy trying to find another connecting flight, there wasn't really time to call me from another option. There was a really nice guy that worked at the airport who tried to help me out as much as he could, which unfortunately there wasn't much he could tell me due to security reasons. All I could find out was there was another flight coming in from the same location in an hour. So my dear friends stayed with me, and we waited some more...

I LOVE that Pat held that sign when Taylor showed up!
I'm glad we did, because Taylor WAS on that flight! I was so happy, my heart was bursting.
There he is!

We were fortunate enough to pick up right where we left off, and I couldn't imagine having a better group of friends there to welcome him home with me.

This is what happiness looks like!

**All pictures (minus that of my homemade signs) were taken by my talented friend, Kimberly. They have recently relocated to New Hampshire area. If you live near there, check her website out {{here}}, she's amazing.

Friday Favorites

Thursday, August 14, 2014

Yay it's Friday! I wish I worked a normal Monday through Friday 9-5 sometimes. So I could be just as excited as everyone else to have 2 days in a row off. Oh well, one day I will finally be done with school; besides this job is more flexible to coincide with my husband's very unpredictable schedule.
Nonetheless it's Friday so I'm linking up with Amanda over {{here}}, because it's my favorite.

((Favorite Song))

((Favorite Moment))
Wednesday night my Mom and sisters stopped at my house on their way to Texas. I loved seeing them and my little spit fire of a nephew, Noah (now I just need to see my other sweet nephew Caedmon:: Hint Hint Sister!!!). They also graciously shared tomatoes from their garden with me and I am in heaven. Does anything taste better than a garden tomato??
Sleepy sister and Noah!

((Favorite Movie))
The Great Gatsby. I have seen it a million and three times, but I just love it so! I think I just love anything in this era of time, but I love the modern sound track to the new version.
