Weekend-y things.

I had big plans to knock off some items on our Memphis bucket list, unfortunately my husband had other plans. He has been away for the week at the Coast Guard academy for schooling and had really been feeling awful while there. I didn't really know how bad until Friday when I jokingly said "Well I guess it will just be a new tradition of ours, going to the ER after your homecoming" and he responded very seriously "I guess so". So that is exactly what happened. I picked him up from the airport around 10 p.m. on Friday night and to the ER we went.  They pumped him full of fluids and did a cat scan which determined he was suffering from a case of food poisoning. So after he laid sleeping on the bed getting antibiotics (my butt went numb sitting in an uncomfortable chair while watching Roseanne until 4:30 in the morning), we were cleared to leave!

He was so mad I was taking pictures, I had to entertain myself somehow!
We left the hospital around 5:00 a.m. and my husband decided he might have an appetite for the first time all week. I was exhausted but there was no way I would turn down his plea for IHOP. I'm pretty sure we looked like crack heads sitting in that booth so early in the morning. My dark circles were extra heavy along with some serious bags, and my poor husband looked like he was rocking the track marks from the IVs they put in both his arms.

Needless to say, we slept most of the day away Saturday, we took Stella for a long walk that evening (the antibiotics really kicked in quick for husband) and then grabbed a bite to eat before retreating to the couch to binge watch The Walking Dead. On Sunday I put the husband on strict bed rest while I worked a little during the day. As soon as I left he was up tinkering around the house, doing exact opposite of what I instructed. He told me it was OK because he took a 2 hour nap that afternoon. I made some awesome stuffed manicotti for dinner (that's for the recipe BFF) and grilled artichokes and then we relaxed on the couch to end the weekend. One of us may have drank a bottle of wine while doing this too, and one of us may have pouted that they couldn't drink wine because of the antibiotics they were on. No need to name names though!!
I take professional pictures...

  1. Oh man your poor husband. Food poisoning is the worst, I had it once and had to do the whole IV thing and I swear it made it worse. Your dinner the next night looks amazing!
