Pimp limps and other things.

Friday, November 7, 2014

We have had Gatsby for a few days now, and thankfully things are getting easier. The first night was a little rough. We forgot to grab some of Gatsby's food he was eating at the shelter when we took him home. Well between his nerves and eating a new food, his poor stomach couldn't handle it. He threw up several times. Once being at 2:30 in the morning, and I could literally hear his stomach rumbling. We felt so bad for him. The next day my husband picked up a small bag of his food from the shelter so we could slowly introduce his new food. He is doing much better now.
Sorry Gatsby, no spinach dip for you!
We have also decided he came to us house broken. We have only had one accident in the house, and it was totally my husband's fault!! Because Gatsby is a tri-pod, he does have some troubles getting around our house. He tends to stick to the rugs because he doesn't slip, but he is slowly venturing out. Our other fur-baby is a little jealous and keeps taking all of the toys and bones and hiding them from Gatsby. It's actually kind of funny, but since he hasn't ventured out much of his comfort zone, he has no idea there is a whole other part of the house to explore. Stella won't be too happy when he does of course, because that is where she is hiding his toys!
That's my husband, cleaning the area rug on the deck.
That's what happens when you forget to let the dogs out.
Other than being a little jealous, Stella and Gatsby are getting along fantastically. They run circles around each other in the back yard. Gatsby is so fast when he gets going, sometimes too fast. His pimp limp gets the best of him sometimes and face plants into the grass. I am also pretty certain they have made a promise to each other to bark at whatever it is the other one is barking at, even if it is their own shadows. Strength in numbers I suppose. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend, I'm going to go cuddle with this guy. He has learned to get up on the couch, and nobody is going to kick a three legged dog of the couch, nobody.

  1. You just can't kick a three-legged dog off the couch. It's cuddles or nothing. Weird, but I like the decorations in your couch pic, it seems cozy :).

  6. Omg, SO cute! And so glad to hear he's feeling better -- sounds like that first night was really rough on the poor guy! I still can't decide if I want to let Brady on the couch.. I really really do but one day he's going to be a huge boy and I may regret it then!!
