Weekend type things..

Sorry I missed posting this on Monday. Would you forgive me if I told you I WON A TRIP to an Ellen Degeneres show, so I was a little bit preoccupied getting my dance on out in L.A.? You would forgive me? Glad to know you are so forgiving! Unfortunately that would be a lie if I told you that. So go on being mad at me while I tell you what I really did.

The only day we did something really exciting was Saturday. We headed over to a "hip" part of town for brunch Saturday afternoon, where the husband and I were an hour late because we were stuck in traffic (get your shit together Memphis!). It only makes sense to watch YouTube videos on your phone when stuck in traffic. Which then causes your phone to die before you even make to your final destination. Which results in a picture-less, bar-hopping weekend. It's a vicious snowball situation.

We met some of the husband's co-workers at Bayou Bar and Grill for brunch and bloodys to begin. After brunch we popped into a few of the other bars in the area before catching the Lyft over to my new favorite place, The Green Cork. They have over 32 wines on "tap" and pretty much every dish is served with cheese. It is the equivalent of dying and going heaven, just trust me. We snagged some comfy chairs by the fireplace and made ourselves quite cozy. The owner came by and introduced herself as our "fairy wine-mother" and was as sweet as could be. Taylor and I decided to call it a night rather early since we had a new 'baby' at home. In honor of our newest fur child we decided to cuddle up on the couch and pop in "The Great Gatsby". We lasted a whole ten minutes before falling asleep, because we are wild like that.
Sunday was spent going to church, eating pizza, watching football, and of course The Walking Dead. Hope y'all had an amazing weekend, and if you know how to get me to an Ellen show, let a sister know!

  1. Aw man I was so excited for you for a minute there!! Can you imagine going to one of her 12 days of giveaway shows?! It would be amazing!!

  2. Ha, I was so excited about you being on Ellen! But it sounds like you had a great weekend anyway. YES to that meme!

  3. hahah, that picture is hilarious!

  4. We had to call it an early night on Friday due to our new baby, too :) Oh how things have changed! If you figure out how to get to Ellen, I'll go with!!

  5. Hahaha you got me with Ellen! Glad it was still a fun weekend :)

  6. Haha I have wanted to see The Great Gatsby, so you can probably tell me how the first ten minutes is. I did the same thing after a long day when we started Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.
