Mondays are hard.

Monday, November 17, 2014

I have a really hard time getting motivated to do much of anything productive on Mondays. Monday is the annoying red-headed step child  when it comes to days of the week. So since I couldn't show up Monday morning for a weekend recap, I'm here now!

Friday was pretty exciting. I spent the day cleaning out my pantry and taking inventory of everything in there. I know this makes me sounds like a big dork, but that pantry was super crowded. I have so many duplicates of things because my pantry was just so unorganized. If I needed something for a recipe I typically just buy it instead of looking in the pantry first. But not anymore!

This is my next project!
Friday evening we caved, and put out our Christmas stuff. Now, before you go and tell me an elf kills a baby reindeer for every Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving... hear me out. We travel for the holidays, so if we waited for the acceptable time to do things, we wouldn't get to enjoy our decorations very much.  So judge away, my house is cozy and christmasy. And Gatsby has only taken off with one Christmas bulb, so I call that a win.

This tree looked a lot bigger in our apartment...

No shave November, you are creepy.
Decorating was hard work.
Saturday we went to the Orpheum for the first time and jammed out to some Old Crow Medicine Show. The Orpheum is a beautiful venue. We had balcony seating, and my beer MIGHT of spilled... on to the people sitting below us. But that is neither here nor there (It truly wasn't my fault). Before the show we had dinner and couple beers at the flying saucer across the street. I ordered the Mojo wings and they. were. HOT.
I need margaritas to get ready..

Sunday was a pretty lazy day for us, a lot of lounging on the couch. We did venture out for some bloody Mary's later that day, but a called it a night pretty early!

How was your weekend?

  2. I cannot stop laughing at the "elf kills a baby reindeer" line hahahaha. Perfect. I almost decorated this weekend but chickened out because I didn't want people thinking I was looney.. but I am looney.. so I guess I should just embrace it.

  3. OMG all that food looks amazing! And so jealous of your Orpheum night! I jumped out of a cab in the pouring rain just to take a picture with that building... the inside is even better!

  4. It really does feel SO good to have an organized pantry!! The spice cabinet on the other hand, yikes! Mine is such a mess, I'm scared to get started on that one, ha!
LOVE your Christmas decor! Let people judge away! It's ridiculous that they feel like they are entitled to an opinion on your life anyway! We pulled out our tree on Sunday (minus the ornaments, those will come out this week, I'm sure!) and Mia squealed and screamed when we plugged the lights in. It was so cute!
The food pics have me wishing it was dinner time (it's not even 7am, HA!) Yum!

  5. Mondays are the worst! So jealous your Christmas decor is up - my husband freaks if I even talk about it before Thanksgiving! Although, maybe it's better we wait this year... I have a feeling Brady is going to LOVE the tree ;)

  6. I thought it was funny that the beer might have spilled.... except if it was on me! LOL. One year we were in Cancun for a good portion of the holiday so we put up the tree early too. I wish we would've put it up as early as you because it still was not up long enough to enjoy it considering all the prep/running errands to get ready for the trip.

  7. I think we might out up our Christmas stuff this weekend, we'll see. I obviously don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but my mum never did it before Dec 1st... I don't know, I'm torn. The poor baby reindeer. Lol. The pantry thing, so smart! Mine is so crowded and disorganised, I really need to do it as well!

  9. I think I have two of almost half the spices in my cabinet. I don't know why, but I never remember which spices we have and end up buying more and more of them XD.
